Junior program rocked this week!
New friends and loads of fun…
Day 22
Monday morning there were new friends to meet.
After morning orientation and classes, we got to know each other over a great Aussie game called “Barefoot Bowls”
Day 23
Tuesday morning was spent learning about Aboriginal art and storytelling,
then it was traditional Aboriginal ‘Dot Painting’ by the sea.
After lunch, some Australian reptiles visited us on campus and students were able to get up close and personal with them.
Day 24
All Day excursion to JELLURGAL Aboriginal Cultural Centre.
Students watched a mini movie about the early Aboriginals on the Gold Coast, after that was a live Aboriginal dance performance.
Everyone received a boomerang to decorate using the traditional painting techniques we learned in class and then we went on a guided bushwalk to learn about the first Aboriginal people who lived in the area. We finished the day with a stop at the lookout over ‘Tallebudgera Creek’
Day 25
We studied lots of shopping vocabulary today.
We also learned lots of questions to ask when you are shopping.
After lunch, we went outlet shopping at HARBOUR TOWN and were able to use everything learned in class.
Day 26
Questions, Questions, Questions….
We studied: word order in questions, questions to ask someone when you first meet and questions to learn about other people’s countries.
Students enjoyed cooking and sharing a BBQ together at ‘The Broadwater Parklands’ near campus, where they asked each other MORE QUESTIONS.
Then it was time for FRIDAY FAREWELLS, autograph signing and last day photos as more of our juniors went home.
