With help from Rachel from Jobs Club and Reuben from Jobs and Careers, Edgar is now working as a kitchenhand at the Chocolate Pavilion in Brisbane’s beautiful Southbank.
He studied traffic engineering in Korea before making the decision to travel to Australia.
‘I have made a lot of friends from around the world’, Edgar tells us. He also says that travelling overseas and finding work has made him a more independent, resourceful and confident person.
Edgar says, ‘I really love to work here, it is a really good environment to practice English. I can speak a lot with the Chefs and the staff are really friendly … and the salary is good!’
His advice to future students looking for work is: Be confident. Think positive. Have hope!
BROWNS Jobs Club and BROWNS Jobs and Careers helped Edgar with his resume and with his job hunting strategy.
