The day our students and staff wore pyjamas to BROWNS English Language School. Both Brisbane and Gold Coast campus came together to help raise important funds and support The Pyjama Foundation and children in foster care. The Pyjama Foundation is a volunteer and mentoring program, which involves matching one adult with one child. Since the inception of this program, The Pyjama Foundation has been transforming the lives of children in care through literacy, numeracy, and mentoring children and to ensure that no child is ever left out of the basic needs of education.
To support this program, BROWNS English Language School students and staff wore their fluffiest slippers, and their most fashionable pyjamas for a day that was filled with fun and laughter but delivered a serious message.
To make the day even better, Barista@BROWNS English Language School students prepared and served hot chocolates with marshmallows, and chocolate chip cookies as an extra treat. The Barista students used their newly learned skills to take orders, make the hot chocolates and serve hot drinks café style. They were kept busy but managed to keep up with all the drink orders that they received throughout the morning.
By participating in this event, students and staff had the option to donate to this worthy cause.
Donations go a long way. $30 enables The Pyjama Foundation to provide brand new books for children in care, $60 secures new educational resources for children in care (including learning actvities, games, puzzles and more) and $100 helps The Pyjamas Foundation to provide two training kits for two Pyjama Angel mentors.
In total, BROWNS English Language School raised over $140.00 for The Pyjama Foundation.
Well done and a big THANK YOU to everyone who participated, dressed in their fancy pyjamas and who donated to this wonderful initiative that BROWNS supported.
