Two of our B1 Active classes were recently studying ‘Community Services’. Rather than stay in the classroom, the students and teachers felt it would be best to go out and visit a real community service on the Gold Coast.

A service that a lot of BROWNS students do not know about is the Gold Coast City Library (read the post “Gold Coast excursion” to the Southport Library) in  Southport. The B1 classes spent the afternoon exploring the wide range of services available to BROWNS students and many of them eventually signed up and became library members.

The students stated that they were surprised that there were so many services on offer to them. However, they said the best thing was that they were all free!
