Looking to make a difference in the life of an international student? Sign up as a BROWNS Homestay Host and provide a safe and welcoming home away from home. As a homestay host, you will have the opportunity to learn about new cultures, make lifelong connections and receive fortnightly payments to cover expenses. The BROWNS team will provide ongoing support and resources to help you succeed as a homestay host.
“As first-time Homestay parents, we were not quite sure what to expect when we welcomed our 17-year-old Japanese student into our home. We need not have worried – we all had the best time! Our homestay families will need to provide the following:
- A private bedroom with a study desk, lamp and Wi-Fi
- Two meals Monday to Friday (breakfast and dinner) and three meals on the weekend. There are other placements that require three meals each day however this is paid at a higher rate.
- Live within 50 minutes public transport to/from BROWNS’ Brisbane or Gold Coast campus
