Exciting Highlights from Week 4 of Our Melbourne Junior Holiday Program

Week 4 of BROWNS English Language School‘s Melbourne Junior Holiday Program was filled with excitement, creativity, and memorable experiences. From exploring the unique aspects of Australian geography to enjoying hands-on activities and thrilling excursions, our students had an incredible time. Each day brought new opportunities for learning, fun, and making lasting friendships. Let’s take a look back at the highlights of this unforgettable week.

We started the week by welcoming our new classmates with a fun introduction to Australian geography. We learned so many things, like the different states, their unique animals, and the meaning of the flag. In the afternoon, we explored the Melbourne Museum, discovering a range of fascinating exhibits that sparked our curiosity and creativity.

Tuesday was good fun! The topic was “Hanging out with friends,” so we warmed up the session by discussing how we like to spend our free time and what activities we enjoy with friends, all while expanding our vocabulary. After the morning break, we got creative designing our dream birthday parties, thinking about activities, food, timing, and location. The highlight of the day came in the afternoon with an exhilarating ice-skating session, where we had the best time and shared big smiles!

Wednesday was all about transport, and it was an engaging day. We began the class by discussing various types of transport and played a lively game of Pictionary, guessing different vehicles. Next, each student designed their own vehicle, considering its functions and price. They then presented their creations to the group, discussing whether we would buy the vehicle or not, and why.

In the afternoon, we stayed on campus and did a creative activity making friendship bracelets. It was a day of imaginative designs and crafting, blending learning with hands-on fun!

Thursday’s focus was on social media, and we began by discussing various social media platforms and learning new vocabulary related to them. We had fun taking pictures and creating fake Instagram posts, which we printed and displayed on the classroom wall.

That afternoon, we hopped on a tram and headed to Docklands for an exciting mini golf adventure.

Friday, 9th August 2024
Friday wrapped up our week with a delicious topic: food tasting. We spent the morning exploring food characteristics and playing games to help us remember the new vocabulary. In the afternoon, we hosted a big party to bid farewell to many students, packed with fun activities. It was a wonderful way to celebrate and enjoy time with classmates and teachers, making sure our last day was as memorable and enjoyable as the rest of the week!

Saturday, 10th August 2024
Saturday marked the end of our week with a sunny adventure at Collingwood Farm. We enjoyed the beautiful weather, explored the farm, and had a wonderful time together. It was a perfect way to wrap up our week!

We are now in the final week of our 5-week Junior Holiday Program in Melbourne. Our students have enjoyed a wide range of activities, from creative classroom projects to exciting outings, and there’s still more to come. Be sure to check back next week for a recap of our last week together. If you missed out on this program, don’t worry—our next Junior Holiday Program will be held in January-February, and we can’t wait to welcome new students for another adventure.
