Junior Holiday Program includes Aquaduck Tour on the Gold Coast

Week 5 marked the final week of our July-August 2024 Junior Holiday Program, and it was a memorable one. Filled with enriching lessons and thrilling activities, our students made the most of their last days together. From sharing weekend stories to exploring Australian wildlife and celebrating with a class party, this week was the perfect conclusion to an incredible journey. Here’s a look back at all the highlights.

Monday, 12th August 2024:
We kicked off the week with a writing lesson on “My Weekend.” The students shared their weekend adventures, helping them practise past tense and descriptive language. In the afternoon, we enjoyed a relaxing session of board games, where students learnt new games and practised strategic thinking while having fun.

Tuesday, 13th August 2024:
Our morning lesson focused on nature and wildlife, where students expanded their vocabulary related to animals and the environment. In the afternoon, we took an exciting ride on the Aquaduck, blending sightseeing with fun facts about local wildlife.

Wednesday, 14th August 2024:
The topic of the day was beach safety in Australia. Students learnt essential safety tips and the importance of respecting the ocean. In the afternoon, we unleashed our creativity by painting, with students expressing their beach experiences through art.

Thursday, 15th August 2024:
We explored Australian animals, learning about unique species and their habitats. The afternoon was spent at the arcade, where students enjoyed games and friendly competition, adding a fun twist to their day.

Friday, 16th August 2024:
Our final lesson of the week covered social media and technology, discussing how to stay safe online and the impact of digital tools. We ended the week with a class party, filled with games, snacks, and pizza, giving students a chance to unwind and celebrate their accomplishments.

Saturday, 17th August 2024:
On Saturday, we had an amazing trip to Paradise Country. The children were thrilled to see the animals we had learnt about during the week, from kangaroos to koalas. The shows were a hit, with everyone enjoying the farm demonstrations and getting up close with the wildlife. It was the perfect way to bring our lessons to life, and the kids left with smiles on their faces and stories to share. It was a day full of excitement, learning, and unforgettable experiences.

As we conclude this remarkable program, we’re proud of everything our students have achieved. From new friendships to valuable skills, they’ve made the most of every opportunity. We hope the experiences and memories they’ve created will stay with them as they continue their educational journey. Thank you to everyone who made this week and the entire Junior Holiday Program a success – we look forward to welcoming our next group of students in January/February 2025.
