Gold Coast Junior Camp – Week One
Monday
Morning: We welcomed all the new students, played some games & got to know each other.
Afternoon: Mini Golf at King Tutt’s Putt Putt in Surfers Paradise.
Tuesday
Morning: Students learned about Daily Routines & used the Present Simple Tense to talk about them.
Afternoon: Sci-Fi movie afternoon with popcorn.
Wednesday
Morning: Students learned animal vocabulary & read about different kinds of animals such as: reptiles, mammals, marsupials, birds, fish & amphibians. Students gave a short class presentation in pairs about one of the animals.
Afternoon: WILDRANGERS came to school & students had the opportunity to see & touch some of the animals we learned about in class this morning. All animals were native to Australia & there were plenty of photo ops.
Thursday
Morning: Australian geography & general knowledge today. Students learned the states & territories, about famous Aussies, landmarks & tourist attractions.
Afternoon: Lots of fun was had at TIMEZONE riding the dodgem cars, playing Laser Tag & playing unlimited video games.
Friday
Morning: Students studied the vocabulary of sports, hobbies & games & grammar play/go/do to use while talking about them.
Afternoon: Sports Day at the Broadwater Parklands. Students enjoyed Beach Volleyball by the sea.
Saturday
All day excursion to Currumbin Wildlife Sanctuary. Students saw koalas, patted kangaroos, enjoyed a birds of prey & an Aboriginal cultural show. The Rainbow Lorikeets were a colourful & noisy highlight.
