Junior Holiday Program: Learning, Fun and New Friendships in Sunny Brisbane
Our Junior Holiday Program (JHP) kicked off in January 2026 with energy, excitement, and plenty of smiles as pre-teens and teenagers from different backgrounds arrived in sunny Brisbane to begin their holiday learning adventure.
The first days were all about settling in and feeling at home. Students met their new classmates, got to know their teachers, and started building friendships that would grow stronger throughout the week. For many, it was their first international experience — and Brisbane’s welcoming atmosphere made that transition easy and exciting.
But the JHP is more than just an English course. Designed to blend academic learning with fun, culture and movement, the program offers students a dynamic way to practise English while experiencing Australian life beyond the classroom.
A Week Full of Experiences
On Tuesday, students enjoyed a lively afternoon of bowling, a perfect ice-breaker activity that encouraged teamwork, friendly competition and plenty of laughter — all while practising everyday English in a relaxed setting.
Wednesday brought a cultural focus, with sessions dedicated to Australian and Indigenous art. Students learned about the stories, symbols and traditions behind Indigenous artworks, gaining a deeper understanding of Australia’s history and cultural heritage. It was an engaging way to combine language learning with cultural awareness.
On Thursday, it was time to move. Dance classes mixed hip hop, K-pop and jazz, giving students the chance to express themselves creatively while learning choreography in English. The energy was high, and the confidence boost was noticeable — even for those trying these styles for the first time.
Friday took learning outdoors with a visit to the iconic Roma Street Parklands, one of Brisbane’s most famous landmarks. Surrounded by lush gardens, students played games, relaxed with friends and enjoyed the city’s vibrant atmosphere, reinforcing that learning can happen anywhere.
The highlight of the week came on Saturday, with an unforgettable trip to the Gold Coast. At Dreamworld, students experienced thrilling roller coasters and had the chance to see incredible animals such as white tigers and kangaroos up close — a truly Australian experience that many will remember for years to come.
Learning Beyond the Classroom
The Junior Holiday Program shows that learning English doesn’t have to be limited to textbooks. By combining structured lessons with cultural activities, outdoor experiences and social interaction, students develop language skills, confidence and independence — all while having fun.
And this was just the beginning. With many more activities and learning moments ahead, the JHP is already proving to be a holiday filled with growth, discovery and unforgettable memories in Brisbane.
