Week 1 Recap of the Junior Holiday Program at BROWNS in Melbourne.

Welcome to BROWNS English Language School Melbourne Junior Holiday Program blog! We are thrilled to share with you the incredible experiences and language learning journey of our talented students from diverse corners of the world. The first week was nothing short of amazing as we welcomed bright young minds from to embark on a one-of-a-kind adventure in the heart of Melbourne. Join us as we take you through the unforgettable moments and captivating activities that made Week 1 truly special. From cultural exchange to exciting excursions and engaging classroom sessions, the first week laid the foundation for an unforgettable experience that promises even more excitement in the weeks to come.

Monday, 22/01/2024 – The first day of our Junior Holiday Program kicked off with an enriching cultural exchange, as students eagerly shared insights into their home nations while immersing themselves in Australian culture. The morning was dedicated to absorbing fascinating facts about Australia and its unique wildlife, setting the stage for an afternoon of friendly competition during a lively trivia activity on what they learned that morning.

Tuesday, 23/01/2024 – On Tuesday, our attention turned to the language used in classrooms. Students engaged in practicing vocabulary related to school supplies, useful phrases, and imperative actions. We also delved into understanding the diverse structures of classrooms, schools, and schedules across various countries. Following lunch, we enjoyed an afternoon excursion to Melbourne’s renowned art laneway, Hosier Lane, and the ACMI (Australian Centre for the Moving Image). There, students delved into the rich history of film, television, video games, and art.

Wednesday, 24/01/2024 – Midweek brought a delightful combination of language learning and leisure. Following engaging English lessons, students had a relaxing afternoon watching a movie with popcorn.

Thursday, 25/01/2024 – As we near the end of the week, Thursday was a day filled with both language learning and an afternoon physical activity. Following their English lessons, students embraced the thrill of indoor rock climbing where the students worked well together as a team and pushed their limits to achieve success. 

Friday, 26/01/2024 – Australia Day Public Holiday

Saturday, 27/01/2024 – We ended the first week of the program with a trip to the Melbourne Zoo visiting many of the animals indigenous to Australia including Kangaroos, Koalas, dingoes, black swans and Tasmanian devils.  We also saw meerkats, lions, tigers, seals, lemurs, giraffes and elephants to name a few.  It was the perfect conclusion to an amazing Week 1, with everyone looking forward to the adventures of Week 2.
