
Monday – Aboriginal Dream Stories – 2 February 2026
We began the week by learning about Aboriginal Dreaming stories. Students explored Indigenous perspectives through storytelling and art, building cultural understanding while practising descriptive language. The afternoon activity focused on Indigenous art, allowing students to express ideas visually and creatively.
Tuesday – Daily Routines – 3 February 2026
Tuesday’s lessons focused on daily routines and everyday activities. Students practised using the present simple tense to talk about their own schedules, habits, and responsibilities. Pair and group activities encouraged students to compare routines, ask follow-up questions, and build confidence speaking about familiar topics.
In the afternoon, students visited Croc! Lost Giants to Living Legends, an immersive crocodile exhibit exploring Australia’s prehistoric and modern wildlife. Students engaged with informational displays, learned about conservation and animal habitats, and discussed what they observed, giving them valuable opportunities to use English in an authentic, real-world context.
Wednesday – Clothes & Fashion – 4 February 2026
On Wednesday, students explored clothing and fashion vocabulary while also learning about the environmental impact of the fashion industry. Lessons focused on describing clothes, materials, and styles, as well as introducing key ideas around sustainability. Students discussed the downsides of fast fashion, including waste, pollution, and overproduction, and considered more sustainable alternatives.
In the afternoon, students took part in a creative Fashion Show Activity, where they designed and made outfits using recycled materials. They then presented their creations to the class, describing their designs and explaining their choices in English. This activity encouraged creativity, teamwork, and confident speaking, while reinforcing important messages about sustainability and responsible consumption.
Thursday – At the Beach – 5 February 2026
Thursday’s theme focused on language used at the beach and during outdoor activities. Students learned practical vocabulary for leisure activities and explored important beach safety concepts, including understanding warning signs, flag systems, and basic safety rules for swimming in Australia. Lessons included discussions and role-plays to help students practise giving advice and talking about safety in real-life situations.
In the afternoon, students participated in Laser Force, an energetic team activity that encouraged cooperation, strategy, and communication. Students worked together while using English naturally in an active and engaging environment.
Friday – Real-World English in Action – 6 February 2026
Thursday’s theme focused on language used at the beach and during outdoor activities. Saturday – Movie World – 7 February 2026
Saturday was a highlight of the week as students enjoyed a full-day excursion to Movie World, one of Australia’s most popular theme parks. The trip gave students the chance to relax, have fun, and use English in real-life situations outside the classroom.
Throughout the day, students practised practical English skills such as reading signs and schedules, asking for directions, ordering food, and communicating with staff and classmates. Moving around the park in groups encouraged teamwork, decision-making, and natural conversation in English. Students enjoyed a variety of rides and attractions, shared experiences with friends, and built confidence navigating a busy public space.
Week 4 was a fantastic week filled with learning, creativity, and memorable experiences. From cultural storytelling and sustainability projects to outdoor activities and excursions, students had many opportunities to practise English in meaningful and enjoyable ways. We look forward to another exciting week ahead.
