Junior Program – Gold Coast Campus (week 2)

Monday we welcomed a few new Junior Program students to BROWNS.

In morning classes, we learned about:

– Online resources to use to improve  English – We spent time in the computer lab doing online listening practice using songs & conversations

– Movie Genres & the language used to talk about films

– Animals & their body parts & coverings – We also did some reading practice about mammals & marsupials

– Shopping Vocabulary & phrases – we also made a SHOPPING board game to practice writing rules & instructions in English & then played a card game called SHOP – in English

– Aussie slang & colloquial language with a focus on listening & speaking

The afternoons were action packed:

Monday we went on the AQUA DUCK an amphibious vehicle in Surfers Paradise

Tuesday we went to the CINEMA to see a movie called – Middle School: The worst years of my Life

Wednesday we had WILD RANGERS bring some Aussie animals to school. We got the chance to touch & hold them & took heaps of photos.

Thursday we went to HARBOUR TOWN for some outlet shopping. Everyone got back on the bus with lots more bags & a lot less money

Friday we had a BBQ in the park & wrote goodbye messages for new friends on their last day.

Student stories:

Henri (New Calendonia): I think BROWNS is one of the best English schools because I already studied before in New Zealand. Compared to New Zealand, BROWNS Australia has better atmosphere, location and our teachers are very happy and cool here. Because the teacher is cool, we want to learn and we can feel that the teacher want us to learn.

Marcela (Brazil): My experience at BROWNS was very good because I can meet different people. I like Gold Coast because I can see more locals and do more activities every afternoon. I really liked Movie World and our first day activity when we went to the beach and Q1 (Surfers Paradise).

Jason (Korea): I like the BROWNS Junior Program especially the outdoor activities. During our English lessons I learnt a lot of new words.

Laureen (New Caledonia): I hope to come back to Australia!
