Fun Facts about Western Australia (WA):

Perth is the capital, it is the most isolated city in the world, also known as the sunniest in Australia, having an average of eight hours of sunshine per day.
Western Australia is home to the extraordinary lake hillier known for his odd colour, a light pink.
The temperatures go between 25 and 35°C in summer, and in the cooler winter months 8 to 16°C.
It also hosts more than 12,000 wildflower species, the largest collection in the world.

 

How to get there?

Let’s assume you’re travelling from Queensland, Brisbane or Gold Coast to Western Australia.

Islands:

  • ABROLHOS ISLANDS – Spectacular coral gardens make for excellent diving and snorkelling; while sea lions, dolphins and migratory whales are often spotted here

 

Beaches:

Cottesloe Beach
Sun, sea, surf and sunsets – popular Cottesloe Beach is famed for all of them, so sip a glass of wine, dine out and enjoy the lively atmosphere.

Cable beach
Beautiful 22 km stretch of white sand beach on the eastern Indian Ocean, it offers a camel rides, a must do, for the price of 80$/95$, it is sensational and unique experience

Hamelin Bay
Famous for the amount of kind and friendly stingrays this beach houses

Ningaloo Reef

Or choose to fly from Perth to Exmouth that will take you 2 hours.

It is the only place in the world where you can swim with the biggest shark in the world, the whale shark http://www.ningalooreefdive.com/

 

Day trips from Perth:

The Pinnacles, 190km from Perth, reachable by car or even public transport. The best season to visit the Pinnacles is in the months of August to October, Nambung National Park received about 150,000 visitors a year

Lake Hillier, Middle Island, approximately 720 km from Perth would be an eight hour drive or a 1.5 hour flight from Perth. Stunning and very picturesque lake that is known for its pink colour caused by a high salinity combined with the presence of a salt-loving algae species known as Dunaliella saline and pink bacteria known as halo bacteria. A DAYDREAM!
